About the Event

Let's get crafty with re-cycling!

During this online session we'll be creating funky plastic bottle green houses and sowing our own seeds.

What you'll need:

~Table cloth

~Large plastic bottle

~Small plant pot (or a small plastic bottle that will fit inside the larger bottle)

~Compost (or earth from the garden)

~Scissors

~Seeds (No need to buy seeds, save some from a tomatoe or a pepper, just dry them out in kitchen towel a few days before)

~Crafty items you have at home (no need to buy new things, let's up cycle what we already have) Examples:

String, glue, paint, card, foam, ribbon, pom poms, glitter. You can also collect things on a local walk, like; Small sticks & feathers.

This activity is designed for children aged 8+, we ask that parents don't participate in the video call to allow the children space to bounce ideas off the other children rather than relying on their parents help. Why not take the opportnuity to put your feet up with a book and a cup of Tea.

Important note:

If you feel your child may struggle with cutting the plastic bottles (it can be difficult) please pre-cut them.

Ask your child how large and what shape (Do they want it wavy or perhaps to have ears?) they'd like the bottom of the greenhouse and cut it round from there (the bottom of the bottle will be the bottom of the greenhouse). If using a plant pot please make sure that the green house bottom (cut from the large plastic bottle) isn't more than 2cms taller than the plant pot. If they will be using a smaller bottle for the plant pot please poke small holes in the bottom of that bottle for drainage and make sure that it fits inside the larger bottle.

This session is "pay what you feel", please select the ticket with the amount you'd like to pay, alll tickets grant the same access to this live Zoom session.

If you have any questions about this session and would like to discuss it further, please drop me a Facebook message or email by 12pm on Saturday and I will help in any way I can.
