Service Description

This combined training and assessment course will enable you to run games and activities to support learning and inspire adventure and exploration for new paddlers in stable craft. This is the qualification used by outdoor centres, organisations and clubs to support their activity delivery. What to expect: Dates - 27th & 28th April Times - 9:30-17:00 Location - Buzzards Valley, Tamworth Age - Candidates must be 14yrs+ Ratio - 1:6 Craft - Canoe, Kayak, Paddleboard or Sit on top Pre-requisites - PSRC & Explore award or equivalent paddling ability in your chosen craft Course content: -Kitting up a group and getting afloat -Activities and games to support learning -How to use mini journeys to promote exploration of the environment -Keeping your group safe What's included: -Certificate cost -Private lake -Access to a range of craft -Qualified, experienced & DBS checked Coach -Hot drinks -Free parking What's not included: -British canoeing membership -Lunch -Personal clothing such as wetsuits, wet boots or dry suits About the venue: At the main venue; the toilet block is situated at the main entrance, approximately 5-10 minutes walk from where the course will take place. Changing is available in the separate Male and Female changing tents at Base Camp, or if you prefer at your car. (If you require a separate changing tent, please let us know in advance). There is no fridge or microwave, Base Camp is a completely outdoor venue with a big bush craft vibe. Camping is available onsite, if this is something you require please drop us an email. Journey; on day 2 of the course we will head offsite to complete the journey section of the course on our local canal Important info: The PIA is an active, on the water course, you can find further information here: https://paddlesuptraining.com/courses/paddlesport-instructor/#page-content This course requires a minimum of 4 candidates to go ahead, in the case of low numbers the course date will be rearranged. We advise not making travel and accommodation plans until the course has reached it's minimum numbers.
