Service Description

British Canoeing Stand Up Paddleboard Sheltered Water Award Award description: Your SUP Sheltered Water Award will give you the ability to organise and carry out an enjoyable and safe trip on the water up to 200 metres from shore, up to force 3 in winds. You will be confident in considering how far you can safely travel from the shore, whilst identifying safe exit points, expanding your knowledge of rescue techniques and looking at the external and environmental factors which may affect our journey. You will create proficient skills What to expect: Timings - 10:00-16:00 Location - Tamworth Waterway - River Tame - Flat water Craft - SUP Pre-requisites - Ready for assessment or minimum of BC 2 star or Explore award standard. Price - £100pp Kit considerations for your course: -Board appropriate for your course -Paddle -BA & helmet -Seasonally appropriate paddling attire -Extra's appropriate for your award (towline, safety knife, spray deck, towline, pump, group shelter, repair kit etc) -Water (full reusable water bottle) -Lunch & snacks -Full change of clothes, shoes and a towel What's included: -Relevant water access licenses -Maps/Charts -Qualified, experienced and DBS checked coach (Kit hire is available on request and availability) Important info: Full trip details including meet point, portages and get off point sent via email after booking. Personal Performance awards are person centric, aiming to support your own paddling journey, please fill out the booking form with as many details as possible to enable us to best plan our trip for you and the group. Each day spent paddling will expand your skills and knowledge. With no two experiences the same, you will never stop learning. You and your Coach will work together after each session to identify where you would like to focus on next in accordance with your own personal goals. The award is then certificated when you are ready. When we reach a certain point in this, it may be worth considering moving onto the SUP white water or Multi day Touring Award.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable. In the case of extreme poor weather we will reschedule the session.
