Service Description

Try it - Taster sessions! Join us for an hours mixed craft paddle session on the lake, choose your craft or have a go in different boats. Get a feel for paddling in a safe and supportive environment as a start to a new hobby or just for fun! What to expect: Ages - 18+ Session length - 1 hour Craft options - Kayak, Canoe or Paddleboard Price - £20pp Session times - 16:30-17:30 & 18:00-19:00 Session dates: -16th April -7th May -25th June -23rd July Session content: -Clothing and equipment -Tips for getting on the water -Learn the paddling basics -Staying safe Two for Tuesday offer! Bring a friend for FREE - just use code TUESDAY2 when booking What's included? -Private, sheltered lake -Boats & Boards -Buoyancy aids (& optional helmets) -All safety equipment -Experienced, qualified and DBs checked staff team -British Canoeing Start award: What's not included? -Personal clothing & shoes Kit list: -Comfortable clothes suitable for exercise or a wetsuit -Old trainers or wet shoes -Seasonal extras (Suncream, coat, gloves) -Full change of clothes, shoes and a towel -Changing robe or similar -Hair tied up -No jeans -No jewelry -No wellies, crocs, heels or flip flops About the venue: Meeting location - Under the gazebo on the field next to the Buzzards Valley main car park Meeting time - Please arrive 10 minutes before your session start time Toilets - The toilet block is situated at the main entrance, approximately 5 minutes walk from the lake. Changing - There are no showers onsite. Changing is available in the separate Male and Female changing tents at Base Camp, or if you prefer at your car. (If you require a separate changing tent, please let us know in advance). Base Camp is a completely outdoor venue with a big bush craft vibe. About the Start award: After your Taster session you'll receive your British Canoeing Start award! The Start Award is exactly what it says on the tin, it’s a place to start your paddling journey. If you’re brand new to the sport and really want to learn the basics to get started, then this is the award for you. You’ll cover everything from getting in and out of the boat, what you need to wear and paddling forward. What's next? Enjoyed your time on the water and want to do more? Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable. In the case of extreme poor weather we will reschedule the session.
